Description
Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Rosuvastatin Calcium USP, equivalent to Rosuvastatin 10 mg
Indications (Uses)
Rosucal is indicated for:
- Primary hypercholesterolemia (high LDL cholesterol)
- Mixed dyslipidemia
- Hypertriglyceridemia (as an adjunct to diet)
- Familial hypercholesterolemia
- Prevention of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in patients at increased risk
- Slowing the progression of atherosclerosis
Mechanism of Action
Rosuvastatin inhibits the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the liver, reducing cholesterol production. It:
- Lowers LDL (“bad”) cholesterol
- Lowers triglycerides
- Modestly increases HDL (“good”) cholesterol
- Reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease
Dosage and Administration
- Take once daily, with or without food.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- Follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- Continue a cholesterol-lowering diet and healthy lifestyle during treatment.
Common Side Effects
- Headache
- Muscle pain or weakness
- Abdominal pain
- Constipation
- Nausea
- Dizziness
Warnings and Precautions
- Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Use with caution in patients with liver disease or kidney impairment.
- Inform your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if accompanied by fever.
- Regular monitoring of liver function and blood lipid levels may be advised during treatment.
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption.

- Store below 30°C.
