Pantaprazol as 40.mg
Pantoprazole is used to reduce stomach acid and is commonly prescribed for:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Heartburn and acid reflux
- Gastric and duodenal ulcers
- Erosive esophagitis
- Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (a condition causing excess stomach acid)
- Prevention of stomach ulcers in people taking NSAID painkillers (when prescribed)
How to Take
- Usually 1 capsule (40 mg) once daily, or as directed by your doctor.
- Take 30–60 minutes before a meal, preferably before breakfast.
- Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not crush or chew it.
Common Side Effects
- Headache
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Gas (flatulence)
- Dizziness
These are generally mild and temporary.
Warnings
- Use only for the duration recommended by your doctor.
- Long-term use may increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium levels, bone fractures, or certain infections.
- Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.
