Description
Composition
Each tablet contains:
- Piroxicam Beta-Cyclodextrin equivalent to Piroxicam 20 mg. The beta-cyclodextrin complex improves the drug’s solubility and absorption.
Indications (Uses)
Piroxicam Beta-Cyclodextrin 20 mg is indicated for:
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Acute musculoskeletal pain
- Tendinitis and bursitis
- Post-operative pain
- Dental pain
- Primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps)
- Sports injuries and soft tissue inflammation
Mechanism of Action
Piroxicam inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin production responsible for pain, inflammation, and swelling. The beta-cyclodextrin formulation provides faster dissolution and quicker onset of pain relief than conventional piroxicam.
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: One 20 mg tablet once daily, or as directed by a physician.
- Take with or immediately after food and a full glass of water.
- Do not exceed the prescribed dose or duration.

Warnings & Precautions
- Avoid use in patients with active stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Use cautiously in patients with kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, or high blood pressure.
- Long-term use may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events and gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Avoid use during the third trimester of pregnancy unless specifically advised by a physician.
Contraindications
Do not use if you:
- Are allergic to piroxicam, aspirin, or other NSAIDs.
- Have active peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Have severe liver, kidney, or heart failure.
- Have previously experienced asthma or severe allergic reactions after taking NSAIDs.
Storage
- Store below 30°C.
- Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children.
