Uses

Difnac-SR (Diclofenac Sodium) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with:

• Osteoarthritis
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Ankylosing spondylitis
• Muscle and joint pain
• Back pain
• Sprains and strains
• Dental pain
• Post-operative pain
• Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)

How It Works

Diclofenac works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. The sustained-release (SR) formulation provides prolonged pain relief throughout the day.

Dosage

• Take only as prescribed by your doctor.
• Usually 100 mg once daily, or as directed.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Do not crush, chew, or split the SR tablet.
• Take with or after food to reduce stomach irritation.

• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (liver problems)
• Reduced urine output or kidney problems

Precautions

• Avoid use if you have a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Use with caution in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney disease, or liver disease.
• Avoid taking with other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or naproxen) unless advised by your doctor.
• Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant (especially during the third trimester) or breastfeeding.
• Avoid alcohol, as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
