ESITALOPRAM 10.MG

Uses:

EXTO (Escitalopram) is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant used to treat:

• Major depressive disorder (Depression)
• Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
• Panic disorder
• Social anxiety disorder (as prescribed)
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in some cases (off-label)

How It Works:

Escitalopram increases the level of serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the brain that helps regulate mood, anxiety, and emotions. This helps reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Dosage:

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Usually taken once daily, with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet with water.
• Do not stop taking it suddenly, as withdrawal symptoms can occur.

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea
• Headache
• Dry mouth
• Dizziness
• Trouble sleeping or drowsiness
• Increased sweating
• Fatigue
• Sexual side effects (reduced libido or delayed ejaculation)

Serious Side Effects (Seek Immediate Medical Care):

• Suicidal thoughts or worsening depression (especially in young adults)

• Serotonin syndrome (fever, agitation, muscle stiffness, rapid heartbeat)
• Seizures
• Irregular heartbeat

Precautions:
