Composition:
Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride equivalent to Moxifloxacin 400 mg

Indications (Uses):
Moxopine is indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including:

• Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP)
• Acute bacterial sinusitis
• Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Complicated intra-abdominal infections (usually in combination with other antibiotics)
• Pelvic inflammatory disease (selected cases, as prescribed)

Note: Moxifloxacin is effective only against bacterial infections and should not be used for viral illnesses such as the common cold or influenza.

Mechanism of Action:
Moxifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, preventing bacterial DNA replication and resulting in bacterial cell death.

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults: One tablet (400 mg) once daily, or as directed by the physician.
• Can be taken with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve.

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Abdominal pain
• Vomiting
• Mild skin rash

Serious Adverse Effects (Seek Medical Attention):

• Tendon pain or rupture
• Severe allergic reaction
• Irregular heartbeat (QT prolongation)
• Peripheral neuropathy (numbness or tingling)
• Severe diarrhea (Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhea)
• Liver dysfunction (yellowing of skin or eyes)

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics
• History of tendon disorders related to fluoroquinolone use
• Congenital or acquired QT interval prolongation
• Severe liver impairment (use with caution)
• Children and adolescents under 18 years (unless specifically prescribed)

Warnings & Precautions:

• Use only for confirmed or strongly suspected bacterial infections.
• Avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight or UV light.
• Use cautiously in patients with heart disease, epilepsy, kidney disease, or liver disease.
• Inform your physician if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
• Stop the medicine and seek medical advice immediately if tendon pain, swelling, or severe muscle weakness develops.

Drug Interactions:
May interact with:

• Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum
• Iron, zinc, and calcium supplements
• Warfarin and other anticoagulants
• Antiarrhythmic medications
• Corticosteroids (may increase tendon injury risk)
• Other medicines that prolong the QT interval
